Celebrate Beethoven!

The celebrations begin! Beethoven’s 250th anniversary will be celebrated in many ways in 2020, but it is possible to survey his whole life – and to experience some of his most personal musical thoughts – by a study of his piano sonatas. Rosemary will lead two Day Schools in Stockport to give an overview of the sonatas and also to delve into some of the fascinating developments in structure, musical language and piano style which they demonstrate.

Booking is now open for Day Schools on Friday 14th February and Friday 13th March, organised by the Manchester Continuing Education Network (MANCENT). Full details are available here: http://mancent.org.uk/?page_id=2577 and a booking form can also be downloaded from the website. If you have any queries, contact Rosemary via this website’s contact page.

Rosemary will also be speaking at META (Marple Exploring the Arts) on Thursday February 6th. Her title is The tip of the iceberg and she will be exploring the hidden treasures of music written by composers mostly known for one outstandingly popular work. The talk begins at 7.30pm at the United Reformed Church, Hibbert Lane, Marple SK6 7NN. Visitors are welcome: tickets cost £5 at the door.
